From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, Friedrich Kuhlau’s Grand Duo, op.69 for flute and piano was beautifully revised by flute-extraordinaire, Jean-Pierre Rampal for this edition. In three movements, Allegro con gusto, Andante sostenuto, and Rondo, this twelve minute work is a classic example of the brilliant writing of Kuhlau. He demands sheer brilliance through technical facility, stunning long phrases, as well as requires an overall sense of maturity throughout the virtuosic passages. All flutists will want this famous work in their libraries. Friedrich Kuhlau was a prolific 18th century composer and pianist.
