Concerto in D Major
Rossler-Rosetti, F

Concerto in D Major by Franz Anton Rossler-Rosetti was originally written for flute and orchestra. It is presented here by Schott in a piano reduction with solo part by Janos Szebenyi. It is classified as an easy concerto for the beginning-intermediate level flutist.

Rosetti was born around 1750 in Northern Bohemia, with the original surname, Roesler. He changed his surname before 1773 to the Italian form, Rosetti. He was a classical era composer and double bass player, and was a contemporary of Haydn and Mozart. He wrote a great deal of instrumental music, including many symphonies and concerti. He is perhaps best known today for his horn concerti, which Mozart scholars suggest may have been a model for Mozart's four horn concerti.
