Raymond Ojeda presents '12 Bass Arias' from the 'Cantatas' by J.S. Bach, selected and edited for 2 flutes/oboes by Paul Renzi.
Renzi writes about this piece: Except for the aria from Cantata No. 95, which is for Alto, Oboe d'amore, and Basso Continuo, these Bass arias as written by Bach consist only of the vocal line (1st flute) and basso continuo (2nd flute). The bass figures have been omitted but each aria-duet is presented here in its entirety with no alternation of form or structure or key transposition. Only a few dynamics have been added and articulations specified in order to make the music more idiomatic to the flute.
