Matosinhos, R
Ricardo Matosinhos's Trio, op. 65, for flute, alto flute, and bass flute, is a drama written in improvisatory style. A dramatic declamation and small cadenzas for each flute introduce central sections, which alternate almost choral-like Portuguese song with quick rhythmic dance driven by percussive sounds in 10/8, featuring each flute as a soloist in turn.
