    The North Bridge flute line was founded by David Kilkenny, Brent Beech and Frank Sarcia and debuted in August 2014 at the National Flute Convention. All musical instruments contain critical components that tremendously enhance its sound quality and playability. For every flute built by North Bridge, a Taiwan-made flute body will be paired with head joint hand-crafted in the United States by noted flute artisan, Chris McKenna.

The art of creating a flute head joint requires many years of experience, bringing together a blend of technology, craftsmanship and artistry. The McKenna headjoint is designed and crafted to be both responsive and flexible while offering superb projection and control, making it easier to produce beautiful high notes and have great dynamic control.

    The North Bridge NB-600 is the step-up from the 500, now featuring a sterling silver body.  Paired with a sterling silver McKenna head joint, the advancing flutist will play with a wheel of warm colors enhancing their professional sound. With its sterling silver body, it will be resistant enough to push the young flutist developing strong airflow and colorful tones essential for musical growth.. Featuring Y-arms, the 600 mechanism provides comfort and ease helping the young flutist play with smooth technique.

    The North Bridge NB-600 flute features a Sterling silver headjoint and body, silver-plated mechanism with Y-arms, open holes, off-set G and B foot.

    A split-E mechanism is available for an additional cost.

    The North Bridge NB- 700 finishes the intermediate series with its professional features at an affordable price. Similar to the 600 with its sterling silver tubing, the 700 adds a C# trill key that helps lessen the difficulty of some technical passages  It also adds weight to the flute, which is ideal for those who have a stronger airflow than others. The pointed arms on the mechanism will help the young flutist play with a lighter touch developing smooth, effortless technique.
