The Serenade in D major op. 8 an arrangement of the Serenade op. 8 for violin, viola and cello. It should not be confused with the more widely known Serenade op. 41, also in D major, originally scored for flute, violin and viola. A Leipzig publisher had made an arrangement of op. 41 for flute and piano, which was revised and improved by the composer himself.
