Musicians Publications presents G.F. Handel's Hallelujah Chorus arranged for flexible flute choir by Bill Holcombe. Scored for 4 C flutes, alto flute, and bass flute, this arrangement also includes an optional bassoon, cello, or bass clarinet part to help fill out the bass. This arrangement is intermediate in difficulty.

Taken from Handel's oratorio The Messiah , Hallelujah Chorus' has become instantly recognizable and is performed in concert halls and churches around the world as well as referenced again and again in pop culture and advertising.

Messiah, the most famous oratorio ever written, is quite unlike Handel's other ones, let alone those by most earlier and later composers. A German who initially made his fame writing Italian operas for English audiences, Handel found in the 1730s that the public wanted something new and more understandable. After composing some three dozen Italian operas, works of great musical brilliance but often dramatically inert and set to mediocre librettos, he shifted his energies to creating what are in essence sacred English operas. - Christopher H.
