Lombardo Music Publications presents 'Southwestern Sketches' for expandable flute choir by Ricky Lombardo. 

The composer writes, 'This composition was written as a gift to the Tucson Flute Club. Movement 1 musically portrays visions of the 'Great Southwest.' The grand resilient landscape is portrayed with a touch of calmness and authority. As the work moves along, I tried to portray the vision of a cowboy riding off into the sunset. Movement 2 is slow with a moving melody, beautiful lyrical lines with expressive harmony painting the vision of the cactus flower and the beauty found in the landscape of the desert. Movement 3 is very different. One can visualize an animated, sneaky, and suspicious coyote all while still being a lovable character. This is a fun work that is quite animated and cartoonish. Enjoy!'
