'Cross the Wide Missouri

'Cross the Wide Missouri includes the setting of the folk song 'Shenandoah' by Kelly Via as the second movement. This piece is a tribute to the Missouri River which flows through Kansas City, Missouri, site of the 36th Annual Convention of the National Flute Association. It was commissioned by the West Michigan Flute Association for the performance in a flute choir showcase at the 2008 NFA Convention.

Instrumentation: 4 C Flutes, 2 Alto Flutes, 2 Bass Flutes, Contrabass Flute/Contralto flute (optional).
