From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, Franz Doppler’s ‘Duettino on American Motifs,’ for two flutes and violin, is a brilliant chamber trio. Approximately nine minutes in length and intermediate in difficulty, Doppler’s work is an excellent addition to any recital. ‘Duettino on American Motifs’ showcases melodies that Doppler believed to be classic American tunes: ‘Hail Columbia,’ ‘The Star Spangled Banner,’ ‘Boatman Dance,’ and Yankee Doodle.’ All flutists will love this addition to their music libraries. Franz Doppler was a prolific 19th century German composer and flutist.
