Troupin, E
Edward Troupin (1925-2004) enjoyed an international reputation as a composer of instrumental music. Throughout his long and illustrious career as a professor of music at Ithaca College and later the University of Florida, he inspired numerous young composers, and his own sound-world is dramatic and full of vitality.
This entertaining duo, for flute and french horn, is cast in 5 short movements: Assertion, Reflection, Eulogy, Fantasy, and Comedy. The colorful and contrasting sections combine in charming balance to make a memorable concert piece.
