The Broderick
Chamberlain, N

The Broderick is a slang term from the 1930 s, which means a thorough beating. The term, however, had more ominous beginnings. The term originated from New York City detective Johnny Broderick who was notorious for taking on the gangsters using any force necessary.

This piece, for flute, cello, and double bass, was a semi-finalist for the 2015 Project Trio Composition Competition, and as such uses extended beatboxing and techniques on the part of all players.
