Zimmermann presents Sonate C-Dur BWV 1033 [Sonata in C Major BWV 1033] by JS Bach, arranged for flute and guitar by Christoph Jaggin. Though this work appears not to be composed solely by JS Bach, its authorship is often attributed to him. In this arrangement, the guitar part is adapted to imitate lute music of Bach's time. The movements are Andante, Allegro, Adagio, Menuett I, and Menuett II. 

Zimmermann presents Sonate e-Moll BWV 1034 [Sonata in E minor BWV 1034] by JS Bach, arranged for flute and guitar by Gerd-Michael Dausend. 

Originally scored for flute and basso continuo, this standard Bach sonata works incredibly well with guitar accompaniment, and the editor adapts the articulations in the guitar part to fit the instrument's capabilities. The four movements are Adagio ma non tanto, Allegro, Andante, and Allegro. 

Suite a-Moll BWV 997 [Suite in A minor BWV 997]

The present edition is an arrangement of the Suite BWV 997, which is known as the 'second' lute suite. The source situation of this work is particularly complex: in his critical report on the New Bach Edition, Thomas Kohlhase identifies as many as 15 sources plus additional copies. The assumption that this work was written for the lute, which is not uncontested at all, is based on a - yet incomplete - intabulation made by Leipzig-based lawyer and lute player Johann Christian Weyrauch. In view of a few notation peculiarities (especially in the Double) and the unusual elements of style in the other versions (all written for keyboard instruments), the instrumentation issue has not been settled yet. Early assumptions, e.g. by Hermann Keller, claim the work to be 'a transcription of a lost work for flute ... and piano'; Kohlhase largely holds the same view.
