Anton Diabelli was born September 6, 1781 in Salzburg and died April 7, 1858 in Vienna is an Austrian musician, pianist, composer, editor and teacher piano, guitar pupil of Michael Haydn. His religious music is widespread in Austria and the quality of his piano pieces assures wide distribution throughout. He is particularly known for founding the Diabelli and Co. Publishing editerent which Haydn, Mozart, Schubert and especially. It must indirectly Diabelli one of the vertices of music: Variations on a Waltz by Diabelli op. 120, which were the subject of a contest in 1821, which Beethoven replied with a monument of 33 variations. Among his numerous works: masses, motets, songs, theater music, and numerous piano pieces.
