John Carmichael's Fantasy Sonata for flute and piano. The 1st movement contains two main themes, one short stated at the opening while the 2nd is more lyrical. The 2nd movement is slow with a rising motif 1st introduced by the piano. The last movement has a play of different moods ranging from jauntiness to mock innocence. A short cadenza for the flute leads to race between the flute and piano to be the first to the double bar.
