Cavatina from Rossini's The Barber of Seville
Diabelli, A
International Music Company presents Diabelli's 'Cavatina' from Rossini's 'The Barger of Seville' edited by Paul Lustig Dunkel for flute and piano.
Anton Diabelli owes his fame in large part to Ludwig van Beethoven, who composed a brilliant set of 33 variations based on his Waltz, opus 120. Diabelli was the owner of a very successful publishing house (Capi & Diabelli) that specialized in arranging and publishing works by popular composers of the day. This composition is one of the earliest examples of a capitalization on the demand for virtuoso works based on those popular composers.
