Korovitsyn, V
Vladimir Korovitsyn was born in Veliky Novgorod in 1956, and in 1981 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In his creative luggage - music of various genres: for the choir, for the chamber and symphony orchestra, romances, songs, spiritual works. Distinctive features of the music of Vladimir Korovitsyn are the unconditional predominance of the melodic beginning and the noble, harmonious language gravitating towards the traditional.
This collection includes separate small works, pieces from the series 'Images and Sounds of the Mediterranean Sea' and the suite 'Monplaisir' - a composer's view from today into the cozy and alluring world of the 18th century, the world of court festivals and gallant adultery. The series 'Images and Sounds of the Mediterranean Sea' was written under the direct impression of V. Korovitsyn s many trips around these parts. The play 'Infanta and the Dwarf' is an elegant miniature with a slight jazz 'touch'.
