Flotenkozert D-Dur [Concerto in D major op. 44]

Krommer, F

Composer Franz Krommer (1759-1831) was a prolific composer of Bohemian-Moravian origin who worked in Vienna as a violin teacher and later, a court composer. Although much of his work has fallen into obscurity, he wrote about 300 compositions and was one of the most popular composers of his time. This concerto is very similar to the style of Mozart’s concerti, with movements one and three featuring lively melodies and flashy technique and the middle movement a beautiful Adagio. This concerto is a lesser known gem for the advanced performer.
