International Music Company presents Leclair's Eight Sonatas Vol. II for flute and piano edited by Jean-Pierre Rampal with realization of the figured bass by Robert Veyron-Lacroix.

Volume II contains Sonata Nos. 5-8.

'Jean-Marie Leclair, 300 years old this year, is best known as one of the great French violinists of the eighteenth century, but among his 48 sonatas for that instrument there are nine which he declared to be suitable for flute also. And indeed, they sound so comfortable on the instrument that was such a favourite in eighteenth-century France that they have become an invaluable part of the baroque flautist s repertoire.'
