Bach, JSBach's Partita BWV 1013 is a challenge to every flutist. In his inimitable, virtuoso manner, Bach exploited all the technical and musical possibilities of the flute in this piece. This new edition now makes this landmark of flute literature accessible to recorder players in a version which scrupulously follows the Urtext and was transposed according to the principles of the 18th century to C minor, for ease of playing on the treble recorder.

Echos
Hotteterre, J
Schott's edition of 'Echos' by Jacques Hotteterre Le Romain is arranged by Walter Bergmann. Written originally for recorder, this piece may be performed on flute as well; it is considered an intermediate level solo.
Jacques Hotteterre, in full Jacques-martin Hotteterre, byname 'Le Romain' (1674-1763) was a French musician, teacher, and musical-instrument maker. Hotteterre was descended from a distinguished family of woodwind-makers and performers. His nickname, 'le Romain' ('the Roman'), is presumed to be the result of a journey to Italy. By 1708 Hotteterre was a bassoonist (or bass oboist) in the Grande Ecurie, a renowned ensemble. Besides performing on various woodwinds, he taught their use to wealthy amateurs, and he himself constructed flutes and musettes.
