Presser presents "Barcarola et Scherzo" by Alfredo Casella, arranged for piccolo and piano by Nicola Mazzanti.

"Barcarola et Scherzo" has been a staple of the flute repertoire ever since Casella composed it for Gaubert while studying at the Paris Conservatory. Equally inspired by Italian vocal style and French impressionism. Casella takes advantage of the flute's colors form the top range down to its rich low C.

Mazzanti has transposed the work up a whole-step to further enrich the piccolo repertoire, only requiring a low D while preserving Casella's melodic contours. The edition provides a new engraving with carefully edited score and parts, as well as a preface addressing performance tips. Mazzanti's piccolo edition of this classic flute standard is sure to be a winner!
