Tsuru-no-Sugomori [Nesting of Cranes]
Traditional
Tsuru-no-Sugmori [Nesting of Cranes] is a traditional shakahachi piece. The Japanese shakahachi is an end-blown flute made of bamboo and open on both ends. It was imported in the 8th century from China, and was played in the court of the Japanese emperor. In the 12th and 13th centuries it was imported again, to be used in Japanese folklore music.
