Musicians Publications presents Antonio Vivaldi s Spring from The Four Seasons, op. 8 transcribed and arranged for woodwind quintet by Bill Holcombe.
This arrangement for woodwind quintet is intermediate in difficulty and includes very informative notations that tell the performer which scene they are painting within Vivaldi s composition. For example, headers such as Spring has returned , Song of the Birds , and Flowing Fountains give musicians vivid imagery of an otherwise very classical work.
The recognizable opening, while normally heard through full orchestral string sections, is transformed by the timbres of the woodwind quintet while still being completely recognizable and evoking the feelings of springtime.
