Burkart International Piccolo Competition

Join Burkart Flutes and Piccolos for their inaugural International Piccolo Competition! Piccolo players under the age of 30 are invited to compete for cash prizes, as well as the opportunity to perform in a virtual masterclass for Burkart Piccolo Artist, Nicola Mazzanti. Competition entry is free (no application fee to apply).

Application and Video Submission Deadline: April 30, 2022
Virtual Masterclass and Awards: May 28, 2022, 12pm EDT

Prizes

Three finalists will be chosen and notified by May 16, 2022. The three finalists will be given the opportunity to perform one piece from the competition repertoire (chosen by the judges panel) in a virtual masterclass for Nicola Mazzanti on May 28, 2022. Placement of the three finalists will be announced following the masterclass.

1st Prize: $1,500 USD, 2nd Prize: $750 USD, 3rd Prize: $250 USD

Repertoire

Competitors are asked to submit video recordings of all three pieces at the time of application by supplying unlisted links to their YouTube videos. Each piece should be recorded in a single take and uploaded separately. Please note: piano accompaniment is preferred when specified.

• Eugène Damaré: Le Bouquet de Roses op. 408 for piccolo and piano, (Jobert)
