Washington Trunk Show

Your one-stop flute shop is coming to Washington! The Carolyn Nussbaum Music Company will be in Bellingham, WA December 5th and Seattle, WA December 6th - 9th for a trunk show and repair services. In order to provide individual attention to flutists who are instrument shopping, or would like to schedule flute maintenance and repair, we are currently scheduling private appointments.
These appointments are limited, so call us at 972-985-2662 and ask for Chelsey, or email chelseyfields@flute4u.com to schedule your appointment today.
You may request to try any particular flute, piccolo, or headjoint brands or models; click here for a quick look at what we carry. Don't forget we also carry gemstone crowns and lefreQues to enhance your sound! We will also be available for any repairs that you might need - including full servicings on your instruments!
Preorders for sheet music and accessories to save on shipping costs are available to those who place orders by Wednesday November 26th. To place a preorder on our website, choose in store pick up, and put a note in the memo section saying it will be picked up at the Seattle trunk show. We'll bring your orders to you!

Flutist April Clayton and composer Miguel del Aguila are joining us here at our shop to perform music from their newly released album, Torrential Raindance. This album presents a compelling collection of new works for flute and piano by three-time Grammy-nominated composer Miguel del Aguila, performed by acclaimed flutist April Clayton and del Aguila himself on piano. Featuring five distinct pieces, this album takes listeners on a journey through a range of emotions and styles. From the whimsical, spontaneous interplay of "Piano Rolls Flute" to the dramatic depiction of a rain-summoning ritual in "Torrential Raindance," and the introspective melancholy of "Silence," each composition showcases del Aguila's unique ability to blend lyrical themes with vibrant, rhythmically complex Latin elements. The album also includes the dynamic "Malambo," inspired by same-named Argentine folk dance, and the multi-faceted "Sonata Flautisima," which explores a transition from a solitary, rainy night to a lively, sunlit day through inventive melodies and extended techniques that push the limits of both: flute and flutist. This collection highlights both Clayton's exceptional technical prowess and del Aguila's innovative compositional voice, offering a rich and engaging listening experience.
