SUBMISSION DEADLINES
PRELIMINARY AUDIO RECORDED ROUND: January 8, 2022 by 9:00pm (EST)
FINAL VIDEO RECORDED ROUND: February 12, 2022 by 9:00pm (EST)
Undergraduate students who enter the Young Artist Competition but do not advance to the Final Video Recorded Round may enter the Collegiate Artist Competition *free of charge* (provided they meet all eligibility requirements).

PRELIMINARY ROUND
PRELIMINARY AUDIO RECORDED ROUND submissions must be in MP3 or M4A Format (audio only) and uploaded with your completed online entry form on or before January 8, 2022 by 9:00pm (EST).

FINAL ROUND
FINAL ROUND VIDEO RECORDING SUBMISSION must be a COMPLETE (unedited) single-camera video performance of your FULL program (multiple-camera videos will not be considered). Must be submitted on or before February 12, 2022 by 9:00pm (EST). Accepted formats include MP4, MOV, and AVI. For identification purposes, your file name should include your first and last name, as well as the name of the division - "Young Artist". Video files will be renamed by number for the purpose of anonymity prior to being sent to the adjudication panel. Please upload the file to a cloud server such a Google Drive of iCloud. No Youtube links. All submissions must be a single take of your full program (you may not stop the camera or combine separate takes to make up one video).

- Amanda Harberg - Court Dances: Suite for Flute and Piano (Finalist - 2019 NFA Newly Published Music Competition: Flute and Piano)
- Carter Pann - Giantess for Flute and Piano (Winner - 2019 NFA Newly Published Music Competition: Flute and Piano)
Collegiate Artist Competition
(For flutists enrolled in an undergraduate program at an institute of higher education for the 2021-2022 school year)
Preliminary recordings are NOT required to enter this competition.

- *ONE* CONTRASTING PIECE OF THE ENTRANT'S CHOOSING FROM ANY ERA; Choice Piece may be selected from any musical era. Choice Piece must be an original work composed for solo flute or flute and piano (transcriptions are not acceptable), and may not exceed 12 minutes (entrants may select one or more movements from a multi-movement piece); If the Choice Piece is composed for flute and piano, it must be performed with the accompaniment. Performance Time Limit: 20 Minutes
Senior Youth Artist Competition
~For flutists ages 15-18 as of March 5, 2022~
Students enrolled in an undergraduate program at an institute of higher education are not eligible, but may enter the collegiate competition.

VIDEO RECORDING SUBMISSION: February 5, 2022 by 9:00pm (EST)
VIDEO RECORDING SUBMISSION must be a COMPLETE (unedited) single-camera video performance of your FULL program (multiple-camera videos will not be considered), and submitted on or before the competition deadline: February 5, 2022 by 9:00pm (EST).

REPERTOIRE
Entrants in the SENIOR YOUTH ARTIST COMPETITION must perform TWO contrasting pieces composed for solo (unaccompanied) flute OR flute and piano. Music composed for flute and piano must be performed with piano accompaniment. The music performed must be originally composed for the flute; transcriptions and arrangements are not acceptable repertoire for the Senior Youth division.
SELECT MOVEMENTS MAY BE PERFORMED FROM MULTI-MOVEMENT PIECES.
SINGLE-MOVEMENT PIECES MUST BE PERFORMED IN THEIR ENTIRETY.
One piece (or movement from a piece) must be selected from the Renaissance, Baroque, or Classical Eras (composed IN or BEFORE 1820) AND composed for solo (unaccompanied) flute or flute and piano.

One piece (or movement from a piece) must be selected from the Romantic, Modern, or Contemporary Eras (composed IN or AFTER 1820) AND composed for solo (unaccompanied) flute or flute and piano.
Entrants should select contrasting pieces that demonstrate their technical skills and lyrical abilities.
Total Time Limit: 16 Minutes
Junior Youth Artist Competition
~For flutists ages 11-14 as of March 5, 2022~
