    18 Studies op. 41

    Andersen, J

International Music Company presents Joachim Andersen s 18 Studies, op. 41 for flute edited by John Wummer.

Joachim Andersen enjoyed an unusually diverse career, including founding membership in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, composition of eight volumes of etudes which have become standard repertoire for flutists world-wide, and being a major influence on Danish musical culture during the early years of the 20th century.

This set of 18 studies do not include keys that go beyond four flats or four sharps, excluding those keys of D-flat major, B-flat minor, G-flat major, E-flat minor, B major, and G-sharp minor. For this reason, these etudes are great for the intermediate flutist who is looking to expand their reading and technical skills in those keys that are most appropriate for the intermediate flutist.

    Andersen, J

Joachim Andersen has written nearly two hundred studies for the flute. The studies in this volume have been composed for flautists at an intermediate level. They have been arranged so that the pupil is introduced to all aspects of fingering and embouchure. The player should be relaxed at all times. Students should never forget that the basic instrument is their own body which should remain supple, ready for action, and open to the finer subtleties of music.
