Young Artist Competition
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 on March 4, 2022. Previous Mid-South first place winners are ineligible. Three finalists will be selected on the basis of recorded auditions to compete live in the final round at the 2022 Mid-South Flute Festival at the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon TN. The finalists will perform in the gala recital playing one of the three final round pieces, chosen by the judges.
Recordings must be unedited or the entry will be disqualified.
Besides the application, name of file, and name of folder, any other form of identification will result in disqualification.
Preliminary Round upload due date: December 6, 2021

Recorded Round:
- Anna Bon di Venezia, Sonata in D Major, Op. 1, No. 4, I. Allegro moderato (no repeats) and II. Andante (this piece can be submitted with or without piano)

College Masterclass Competition
Application and recording due: January 1, 2022
Required Repertoire: one piece not exceeding ten minutes
Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in any college major. Three performers will be selected on the basis of recorded auditions to play for the guest artist at the 2022 Mid-South Flute Festival at the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, TN.
Entrants are required to record one piece of their choice not exceeding ten minutes in length. Single movements of multi-movement pieces are acceptable. Unedited recordings may include studio as well as concert performances. Pieces that require accompaniment must be recorded with accompaniment. Smartmusic© or other prerecorded accompaniment may be used.
High School Soloist Competition
Application and recording due: January 1, 2022
Required Repertoire: one piece not exceeding 5 minutes
The Mid-South Flute Festival High School Soloist Competition is open to High School flutists enrolled in grades 9-12. Competition applicants must submit an online application, preliminary round recording, and fees by January 1, 2022 to be considered.

Second place winner $100.00
Third place winner $50.00
REPERTOIRE
Candidates should choose up to five minutes of music that will best display their ability. Single movements, or editing to fit time limit are acceptable. Piano accompaniment is not required.
