The purpose of these studies is to develop musical, technical, and rhythmical skills, and to introduce a few extended techniques. The exercises will help to develop some of the physical skills needed to have real musical choices in the way we play. Use the exercises as a starting point to experiment, to find out more about how the flute works and about how what we do physically is at the core of creating our most expressive sound.
