A friend and colleague sitting next to me whispered after the 'Apanhei-te', 'Wouldn't that sounds great on piccolo?' I agreed, and right after the recital I ordered copies of all four of the rags performed that afternoon. Over the next few years, I made transcriptions of these delightful pieces, with my husband adapting the piano parts, and we started incorporating them into our recitals.
