This work  was commissioned by the Ensembles Soni Ventorum, and was premiered on October 12, 1978 in Seattle, WA.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA twentieth century French composer, Francaix was natrually gifted in music and began writing when he was only six years old. He published his first work at the age of ten which caught the attention of renowned composer and teacher, Nadia Boulanger whom considered Francaix to be one of her best pupils.
