He is a direct descendant of the famous Austro-Hungarian flutists and musical figures of the 19th century, the Doppler brothers. Many of the Dopplers' works clearly show a connection with Hungarian music, which in turn has always been influenced by Gypsy music. Professor Ulrich Doppler wanted my piece to echo the Dopplers' pieces, to use a similar style of musical writing.
