All movements have fugal structure and prove Quantz's mastery of the 'strict' style. The composition is outstanding in the profoundness of sensibility of its slow movements, and in the virtuosic elan of its fast movements. For every flutist it is a rewarding piece showing Quantz's compositional ability in its many facets.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe realization of the figured bass for keyboard in this Barenreiter edition should be regarded as a suggestion and represents only one of many possibilities.
