Having arrived in Paris in 1738 he wrote six additional 'Nouveaux Quatours' featuring the same instrumentation. All 12 works were published by LeClerc and have become known as the 'Parisian Quartets'. Two of them were published in 1930 and 1932 by Maria and Rolf Ermeler in an edition that is still up-to-date today. The new edition presented here is based on the unaltered scores and parts. A new feature are the original gamba parts which differ in interesting details from the parts for cello obbligato.
