With that in mind we have written this book of duets, covering all major and minor keys up to two sharps and two flats, A Major and some chromatics. We hope that this will help pupils remember the key finger patterns that are so essential to playing an instrument fluently. The duets can be used as a back-up for scales, as sight-reading practice, or played through just for fun. They can be played in lessons with a teacher, at home with family and friends, and used for group teaching.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach section has short finger warm-ups which highlight the notes that are particularly important for each key. By alternating between tunes, warm-ups and scales, we hope students will be helped to make the important connection between memorising finger patterns and playing pieces more fluently.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe have grouped the duets into key families as we thought it really important for pupils to understand the link between minor keys and their relative majors.
