Soon, the piano part erupts and announces the four-note motif, which represent the four spherical objects in the painting. Various four-note ostinato patterns emerge in the middle section, built off octatonic material. The music builds to the climax by transposing and transforming these ostinato patterns at higher registers, accelerating, symbolizing the Madonna rotating towards maximum speed.
