A small, delightful piece, the Sonatina shows Glanville-Hicks' adoption of a neoclassic language into her distinctly Australian classical voice. In three movements - a sprightly, joyful Animato, an aria-like Lento Recitativo, and a playful Vivace - the Sonatina is a slightly unusual piece that nonetheless pleases the ear.
