John Heiss’ Etudes for Solo Flute Op. 20 were completed in 1986. These etudes are short, however are intended for the intermediate to advanced flutist. Heiss has multiple harmonics, alternate fingerings, flutter tonguing, and various other extended techniques.The etudes are : I. Chorale, II. Shadows, III. Timbre, IV. Multiples, V. Birthday Greetings, VI. Aria. A total of nine minutes in length, these etudes can be performed back to back.
