Adams, HL :: Night Song
H. Leslie Adams is known for his deeply personal compositional language; a sound that lies somewhere beyond Debussy, with a lush sense of jazzy romance. His 'Night Song' for flute and harp is no exception. Like many of the standard yet small repertoire works for flute and harp - Lutoslawski's '3 Fragments', Ibert's 'Entr'acte', Jongen's 'Danse Lente' - the harpist takes a leading role, with the flutist variously adding color, emphasizing melodic lines and counterpoint, or outlining sparkling filigree about the harp's steady lines.
Notably, Adams also enhances the textural possibilities of the ensemble with several well-applied Salzedo techniques in the harp. The flute, in contrast, uses extended technique sparingly - a few notes of flutter-tongue for color, and neo-Romantic tone painting otherwise.

Sheet music, instrument purchases, and Special Order Only (SOO) merchandise are non-returnable.
For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
