Henri Altes was French flutist, earning his degree at the Paris Conservatory where he would later teach. In addition to his teaching, Altes was principal flute with the Orchestra de l’Opera national de Paris. Best known for his flute works, Altes composed multiple pieces for the Paris Conservatory Concours as well as method and etude books for the flute.
The Twenty-Six Selected Studies have been presented here by George Barrere, a student of Henri Altes. This collection of studies includes duets, technical etudes, and short compositions for musical and artistic study.
