A Saltarello is a 14th century lively dance from Italy. Originally, this type of piece is monophonic with a repeated 4 phrases as seen in estampies, the oldest surviving examples of purely instrumental music from Western Europe.
This arrangement is for 2 flutes, an alto flute (with an optional 3rd flute part), bass flute, and optional tambourine.
