Bach's volume of concertos for harpsichord contained seven complete concertos for the instrument. An eighth was planned, but left unfinished. Noting Bach's obvious intention to quote his Cantata 35 (BWV35) in the few completed measures, and that the concertos BWV 1052-1058 were revisions of earlier concertos, Winfried Radeke reconstruction this flute concerto using the plans of 1059 as well as borrowing from Cantata 35. Originally for flute, strings and basso continuo, this edition has been transcribed for flute and piano by Ulrich Haverkampf
