Martin Barenz's Octet for eight flutes follows a slightly expanded tonality, with changing rhythms and meters in a rather Impressionistic manner. Though the voicing is limited to the 8 C flutes, Barenz manages to create intriguingly lovely and complex textures with various depths across the Octet's 3 movements.
