James Garnes presents Ghostdancers: Threnody for Wounded Knee, for flute choir and percussion.
'Ghostdancers' is a reflective tone poem based on the tragic story of the Piaute Medicine Man named Wovoka and his development of the 'Ghost Dance,' which many Plains Indians adopted in the late 19th Century in a desperate effort to call their ancestors back from the dead to help them repel the mass immigration of white settlers to the Great Plains, whose rapid influx disrupted the Plains Indians food sources. The tragic history of the 'Ghost Dance' culminated during the Wounded Knee Massacre, which has become infamous as the last hostile act between Native Americans and the United States Government.
Instrumentation: 6 flutes (with an optional ocarina), alto flute, bass flute. Duration: 7:00.

Sheet music, instrument purchases, and Special Order Only (SOO) merchandise are non-returnable.
For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
