ALRY Publications presents Sarah Bassingthwaighte's 'Q for Quarantined Flute Choir' by Sarah Bassingthwaighte.
Q, for flute choir, is a response to shelter-in-place limitations amidst the 2020 pandemic and the difficulties of playing and recording as an ensemble. Each player records their part, eventually to be combined into a whole; coordination is achieved through using time markers instead of measures or ensemble direction.
Written with only 2 flute parts scored, this work can played with as many flute players as desired and each player is encouraged to switch between the parts at their pleasure.
