Beckstrand, W :: If Thou But Trust in God to Guide Thee
Beckstrand, W
This setting of the classic Lutheran chorale (WER NUR DEN LIEBEN GOTT) employs a jazzy style with a rhythmic, rugged ostinato in the organ and a playful lyricism in the flute. The driving and incessant character of the flute part almost suggests birdsong.
