Konzert e-Moll [Concerto in E minor] by Franz Benda is presented here in a piano reduction. Franz Benda belongs to the so-called Berlin or North German School which became extremely significant in the second half of the 18th century particularly in the field of instrumental music and which made the transition from the baroque to the classical period together with the Mannheim School. In the works of the Berlin School, the strict counterpoint of the predecessors is loosened by a freer and melodically pleasant, almost galant style and often even completely displaced. The concerto is in three movements in Allegro, Adagio, and Presto and is for flutists at the intermediate to advanced level.
