Bennett, RR :: Six Souvenirs
Bennett, RR
For the flute talents of John Wummer and Mildred Hunt Wummer, Bennett composed a set of six descriptive movements, each an homage to friends integral to the American flute scene of the day. Certainly, the names George Barrere, William Kincaid, and Verne Powell are well-known, but to Bennett they were richly colorful friends.
Movements:
I. Thinking of Brown Schoenheit
II. Remembering Georges Barrere
III. At a Barndance with the Baxters
IV. A Serenade for Billy Kincaid
V. A Fontainebleau Evening with Quinto and Lamar
VI. Trading Jokes with Verne and Eddie Powell
The Six Souvenirs may be performed as a complete suite or individually. For advanced performers.
