Theobald Boehm's Elegie in A flat major op. 47 for flute and piano should be considered by flutists at the advanced level. This minor work by Boehm's instrumentation teacher was for a long time regarded as an original composition by Theobald Boehm. It saw the light of day in 1880 entitled 'lgie' with an inexplicable opus number, 47.
