Joseph Bodin De Boismortier's 6 Suiten [6 Suites] op. 35 were first published in Paris in 1731. In a short note printed on the original title page, the composer says that these suites are provided with all the necessary ornaments and that they can be played as solo pieces without bass. Apart from the numerous written-out embellishments, Boismortier makes use of three ornaments in this opus: the trill, mordent, and suspension.
